Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Manager for its Energy & Resources business line to lead multi-discipline teams in the execution of thermal generation projects across North America. The role includes Owner’s Engineer and Detailed Engineering/Design services for simple cycle, combined cycle, and repowering efforts, delivering high‑quality results on schedule and within budget.

You will champion client service, manage risk, and mentor staff while supporting business development as a seller-doer.

Qualifications

• Engineering design and construction experience with power plant projects.
• Expertise in Project management including, team leadership, resource management, scheduling, project controls, reporting and document controls.
• Strong leader, collaborator, and communicator with interpersonal skills and experience in managing a team.
• PM experience leading projects using EPC, DBB, ECI, etc.
• Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering services related to energy projects.
• Experience in business development, proposal, and budget development.
• Demonstrated leadership competencies.
• Strong organizational skills across offices/geographies.
• Problem-solving skills to identify deviations from scope/schedule/budget and take corrective action.
• Ability to travel to US and Canadian offices and client sites.
• Excellent oral and written communication and problem-solving aptitude.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365; Excel skills beneficial.
• Must have driving record and valid license.
• Drug/alcohol screen may be required.

• Provide project management expertise to our team.
• Manage Energy projects/programs.
• Support and contribute to PM practices and methodologies.
• Coordinate with leadership, discipline leads, and clients.
• Align project execution across leadership.
• Foster client satisfaction and mentor staff.
• Maintain discipline over resources, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Identify and resolve execution gaps with leadership.
• Feedback and action plans to implement lessons learned.
• Support leadership in resource management and coaching for PMs.
• Lead or support proposals as needed.
• Mentor junior staff and achieve annual utilization targets.
