Job summary

AEP is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex projects within a matrix environment. You will plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and close initiatives, guiding teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver on scope, schedule, budget, and safety.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, risk management, and customer focus, with duties including governance, procurement, closeout, and mentoring of junior project managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant field with solid project management experience.
• Progressively increasing project management responsibility in a competitive production environment.
• Experience with major construction, project controls, cost estimating, and contracting is valued.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned project activities, using Waterfall and Agile methods as appropriate.
• Ensure safety through the AEP System Safety Process and Zero Harm focus.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and procurement.
• Communicate project status; lead meetings and provide clear written and oral reports.
• Foster relationships with internal/external customers, vendors and contractors to ensure satisfaction.
• Mentor junior project managers and supervise sub-teams as assigned.
• Oversee contracts, vendor selection, and performance to ensure contract compliance.
• Conduct project closeout analyses and benefits realization.
