Job summary

AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER (AEP) is seeking a Project Manager Staff (Grade 10) to lead complex projects and outages in a matrix environment. You will supervise planning, scheduling, budgeting, and procurement while ensuring safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction across internal and external stakeholders.

Role requires strong leadership, advanced project management knowledge, and experience with both Waterfall and Agile approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7–10 years qualified experience, or equivalent
• PMP certification preferred, may be waived
• Valid state driver’s license
• Experience in utilities, nuclear power, and/or IT systems is favorable
• Demonstrated project management duties across knowledge areas

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned project/outage work
• Use Waterfall or Agile methods for project management
• Support safety policies and Zero Harm commitment
• Develop and manage project/outage plan, schedule, budget, and staff
• Lead planning meetings and stakeholder presentations
• Provide clear written reports and status updates
• Develop procurement plans and manage outside resources
• Travel as required
• Represent AEP with customers, vendors, and regulators
