Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead high-dollar, complex projects and ensure delivery quality, schedule, and budget. You will initiate growth, mentor staff, and align projects with the firm’s goals.

The role emphasizes leading project plans and risk management, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and communicating with clients and stakeholders to secure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program.
• 15+ years of experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Business development experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages project(s) in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget.
• Collaborates with disciplines and subconsultants to develop a risk-adverse project scope and fee.
• Develop project specific project plans, Project Management Plans/quality management plan.
• Create and maintain project schedules.
• Manage subconsultants.
• Monitor and execute project progress, including identifying and mitigate risks, developing extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals.
• Communicate project status, updates, and issues to internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in office’s project financial status meetings.
• Build relationships with clients to understand preferences and requirements to set-up and execute a quality project.
• Prepare progress reports and review invoices.
• Develop and lead project status and presentations.
• Assist Section Heads, Office Leaders, and Practice Leaders with marketing processes including SMART Go/No Go decisions, proposal development, interviews, and win strategies.
• Collaborating with Section Head and Office Leader to identify leads and opportunities based on strategic goals.
• Develop and maintain a strong network of clients and industry stakeholders.
• Coordinate and guide all technical resources within the project team to ensure a high-quality outcome.
• Leverage knowledge to analyze risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Implement project tracking and reporting using performance metrics.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to the project team through one-on-one check-ins and debriefs.
• Lead and manage team members with leadership and performance management to support growth.
