Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead high-dollar, complex civil engineering projects, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget. The role requires guiding cross-disciplinary teams and maintaining client relationships to ensure quality outcomes.

You will develop project plans, manage subconsultants, and communicate progress to stakeholders while supporting marketing and proposal efforts to grow the practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program
• Professional Engineering License
• 15+ years of experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Proficient in Bentley ORD and Autodesk Civil 3D
• Proficient in ICPR, SWMM, and HED-RAS modeling software
• Proficient in ArcGIS
• Experience with local clients at county and state level
• Strong Communication Skills
• Strong Presentation Skills
• ENV SP certification
• CAPM or PMP certification
• Experience with multiple project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3)
• Experience managing multidiscipline project teams
• Experience with stream restoration projects
• Experience with water quality projects

Responsibilities

• Manages project(s) in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget
• Collaborates with disciplines and subconsultants to define project scope and fee
• Develop project plans and quality management plans
• Create and maintain project schedules
• Manage subconsultants
• Monitor and mitigate risks, and handle extra work orders
• Communicate project status and issues to stakeholders
• Participate in project financial status meetings
• Build relationships with clients to align goals and ensure quality
• Prepare progress reports and review invoices
• Lead in project status updates and presentations
• Assist marketing with proposals, interviews, and win strategies
• Identify leads and opportunities based on strategic goals
• Develop strategic goals with leadership
• Develop strong network of clients and industry stakeholders
• Coordinate technical resources to ensure high-quality outcomes
• Apply client/project experience to anticipate risks and mitigate issues
• Implement project tracking and reporting via performance metrics
• Provide coaching and mentorship through team check-ins and debriefs
• Lead and manage team performance and development
