Job summary

Royal Electric Company is seeking a Project Manager or Sr. Project Manager for Santa Cruz/Monterey, CA. Lead building group projects across Multifamily, Commercial, and Distribution sectors.

You will manage preconstruction through closeout, coordinate with field and office teams, review documents, and optimize procurement and scheduling to maximize profitability. The role requires a Bachelor’s in a relevant field with 5+ years of experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of related experience.
• Understanding the entire construction process from design to project close-out; bid analysis, budgeting, writing scopes of work.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, Bluebeam, Accubid, PlanGrid, ProCore.
• Valid Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with General Contractors, Owners, Subcontractors and vendors.
• Be the point person from preconstruction through project closeout.
• Delegate tasks and ensure the project team understands the plan.
• Coordinate between Field Operations and Preconstruction and implement project plan.
• Review construction documents for inconsistencies and develop RFIs.
• Prepare and clarify cost estimates including inclusions/exclusions.
• Review specifications and coordinate changes with contract documents.
• Create subcontracts and manage buyouts with clear scope inclusions/exclusions.
• Collaborate with Contracts to interpret language and ensure milestones are achievable.
• Manage procurement, schedule, and budget; communicate impacts and file documentation.
• Support labor tracking and weekly look-ahead schedules to mitigate risks.
• Coach Project Engineers and Sr Project Engineers toward target results.
