Job summary

Royal Electric is seeking a Project Manager to lead multifamily, commercial and distribution projects in Santa Cruz/Monterey, CA. The role requires overseeing preconstruction through closeout, coordinating with field operations, subcontractors, and owners, and ensuring schedule, cost, and quality targets are met.

You will build trusted relationships, review documents, and lead a team with a focus on on-time delivery, safety, and client satisfaction in a dynamic construction environment.

Qualifications

• Must understand the entire construction process from design to project close-out; bid analysis, budgeting, writing scopes of work, document interpretation, design-build and negotiated projects.
• Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize, complete tasks, and address issues in a timely manner.
• Ability to effectively delegate tasks to project team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Accubid, PlanGrid and ProCore.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relations with customers, vendors and subcontractors.
• Ability to work with a team and independently.
• Valid Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with General Contractors, Owners, Subcontractors and vendors to promote project success.
• Be the point person from preconstruction through project closeout.
• Delegate tasks to team members and ensure full project understanding.
• Coordinate between Field Operations and Preconstruction and implement the project plan.
• Review construction documents for inconsistencies and develop RFIs.
• Prepare detailed estimates and provide clarifications with inclusions/exclusions.
• Interpret specifications and manage contract scope in design-build or design-assist projects.
• Create subcontracts and manage buyouts with clear scope boundaries.
• Monitor procurement, schedule milestones, and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
• Track labor and material costs, and manage budget and Schedule of Values.
• Support subcontractors with billings and change orders.
• Coach project engineers toward key results.
