Job summary

LJA Energy is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to support the design and execution of oil and gas midstream projects, including processing, compression, pipelines, terminals, and related utilities.

You will balance technical requirements, project objectives, safety, schedule, and cost, with potential to serve as discipline lead or Engineer of Record for assigned work. Based in Houston, you will collaborate with project managers, clients, operations, and vendors; mentor junior engineers;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (or Mechanical with substantial process & oil & gas experience).
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas or eligible to obtain Texas registration.
• 5–10 years of process engineering experience for intermediate level; 10+ years for senior level.
• Proficiency with process simulation tools (e.g., ProMax, Aspen HYSYS, VMGSim).

Responsibilities

• Develop and review process deliverables for feasibility, FEED and detailed design.
• Prepare P&ID, utility flow diagrams, and process descriptions.
• Develop heat and material balances and operating cases.
• Perform equipment sizing, hydraulics, and process simulations; mentor junior engineers.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, operations, vendors, and other disciplines.
