Job summary

LJA Energy is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to lead process design for oil and gas midstream facilities, including gas processing, compression, and associated utility systems. The role balances technical execution with safety, schedule, and cost considerations, with potential leadership as a discipline head.

Ideal candidates bring strong process simulation skills (ProMax, Aspen HYSYS, VMGSim), and experience guiding junior engineers, with licensed Texas PE or eligibility to obtain licensure.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years of relevant process engineering experience for Intermediate-level consideration, primarily within oil and gas, natural gas processing, pipeline, terminal, or midstream sectors.
• Ten or more years of progressively responsible process engineering experience for Senior-level consideration, with substantial experience in oil and gas midstream facility design.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering fundamentals, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mass transfer, phase behavior, and process control.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review process engineering deliverables for feasibility studies, front-end engineering design, detailed engineering, and brownfield projects.
• Prepare process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and related process drawings.
• Lead design reviews, HAZOPs and risk assessments, and coordinate with project teams and clients.
