Job summary

LJA Energy, Houston, TX, is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to lead instrumentation and controls engineering for oil and gas midstream facilities. You will own technical delivery, coordinate with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams, and serve as Engineer of Record where applicable.

The role emphasizes ownership of deliverables, coordination with operations, and oversight of I&C specification, design, and commissioning activities. Houston-based with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Controls Engineering or related field
• Active Professional Engineer license in at least one US jurisdiction
• Willingness to obtain Texas comity licensure within a short period
• Minimum of seven years in instrumentation and controls engineering
• Direct experience with oil and gas midstream facilities
• Experience in engineering consulting/EPC/midstream environments
• Knowledge of PLC/RTU/DCS/SCADA/HMI, safety systems
• Ability to travel to client sites and work from Houston office during probation

Responsibilities

• Develop instrumentation and controls deliverables for feasibility studies, FEED, detailed engineering, and brownfield installations
• Specify field instrumentation (pressure, temp, flow, level, etc.) and control components
• Review instrument indexes, data sheets, I/O lists, alarms, and control system diagrams
• Coordinate control-system requirements with process engineers, vendors, and clients
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to junior engineers and designers
• Represent LJA in client meetings, site visits, and design reviews
