Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for our Building division in San Diego. This role acts as the technical source for project documents, answers questions on drawings and change orders, and maintains strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

The Senior step applies to those with 6+ years of experience on large or complex projects. Expect a path that advances through I, II, and Senior levels as you contribute to project success

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc.
• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent training and 3–4 years of experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise diverse teams.
• Commercial/vertical project experience; aviation projects a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement schedule and integrate with project CPM schedule.
• Review submittals for compliance with contract documents.
• Prepare and review change orders and cost adjustments.
• Maintain "As-built" contract documents and close-out requirements.
• Participate in takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities as required.
• Plan, develop and supervise project team members for relentless execution.
• Prepare quantity reporting and meeting minutes; manage project logs.
