Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Phoenix to serve as the technical source of information on construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. You’ll respond to questions about drawings and change orders, while maintaining professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

The role includes career progression through three steps (I, II, Senior) based on experience.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology; interdependent relation with other units.
• Experience: minimum of three to four years of similar construction engineering experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise and train field engineers.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of PMP components and change management to ensure project execution.
• Develops procurement schedule and coordinates submittals; reviews submittals for contract compliance.
• Manages budgeting and cost controls within approved budgets; demonstrates business acumen.
• Maintains 'As-built' contract documents; compiles close-out requirements (manuals, warranties).
• Participates in takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, utilities as required.
• Plans, develops, and supervises project team members for relentless execution.
• Prepares and reviews change orders; maintains log and distributes documents to stakeholders.
• Prevents and mitigates potential claims, quantifying and resolving effects.

Education

Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical training
