Moog Military Aircraft Group in Torrance, CA seeks a Staff Program Manager to lead a strategic development program and coordinate cross-functional teams from design through initial production.

Qualifications

• BS degree with at least 10 years of professional work experience, preferably in engineering or program management.
• Typically 6+ years of program management experience in aerospace/defense development.
• Experience delivering in fast-paced environments with focus on schedule, quality and financial performance.
• Proven ability to lead, organize, and influence teams across functions via strong communication.
• Ability to work independently and deliver results as an individual contributor.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and communicating program budgets, plans and schedules.
• Knowledge of contractual requirements and scope adherence.
• Ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
• PM certification is a plus.
• Experience on defense programs and EVM principles is strongly preferred.
• Must have ability to access U.S. export-controlled information and obtain U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team in developing a strategic effort for a key customer.
• Develop and execute a program through design, development, qualification and initial production, coordinating cross-functionally.
• Optimize program success through collaboration with stakeholders across functions.
• Ensure contract compliance across all program activities.
• Achieve program objectives within scope, schedule and budget using PM principles.
• Manage cost and schedule performance to meet development objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate program elements with detailed schedules and milestones.
• Resolve issues promptly through day-to-day communications with customer and internal teams.
• Collaborate with functional groups to develop recovery plans when needed.
• Sustain and grow Moog's book of business through proposals and business capture.
