Job summary

Moog is seeking a Staff Program Manager to lead a strategic development program for a major customer in Torrance, CA. You will coordinate design, development, qualification and initial production with cross-functional teams and external customers.

You will drive program plans, budgets and schedules while aligning with contract requirements and financial targets. The role demands strong leadership, communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Qualifications

• BS degree with at least 10 years of professional work experience, preferably in engineering or program management.
• Typically 6+ years in Program Management with aerospace/defense experience.
• Experience delivering on schedule, quality, and financial performance in fast-paced environments.
• Proven ability to lead, organize and influence cross-functional teams through strong communication.
• Ability to work independently and deliver results as an individual contributor.
• Experience developing and communicating budgets, plans and schedules.
• Understanding contractual requirements and scope adherence.
• Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities.
• PM certification is a plus.
• Experience with Defense Programs and Earned Value Management (EVM) is preferred.
• Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information and obtain security clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a strategic development program for a key customer.
• Develop and execute the program from design through initial production with cross-functional coordination.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize program success across the organization.
• Ensure contract compliance through active management of program activities.
• Achieve program objectives by applying formal PM principles within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Manage cost and schedule performance to meet development milestones.
• Develop and manage detailed program plans and schedules.
• Maintain timely issue resolution with customer and internal teams.
• Coordinate recovery plans with functional groups when needed.
• Support proposal work and business capture to sustain Moog's book of business.
