Job summary

Dow in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Senior Production Engineer to optimize plant operations, drive safe and efficient production of low-cost, quality products, and coordinate with the plant and supply chain to meet business goals.

The role requires broad knowledge of theories and practices, with the ability to apply automation and MET concepts to improve performance and provide technical leadership during both routine and unplanned events.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering required; Chemical or mechanical preferred.

Responsibilities

Understands business needs and translates to plant production goals.
Coordinates with Integrated Supply Chain for production planning, shipping, and materials.
Determines shutdown timing with Supply Chain, Turnaround, Operations, Maintenance and others.
Coaches plant personnel on measurement tools and KPI trends.
Works with operations to leverage problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
Ensures MET is understood and used; promotes process automation for performance.
Partners with experts for advanced troubleshooting and improvements.
Diagnoses root causes of asset utilization losses.
Reviews logbooks and alarms to understand plant operation.
Maintains daily KPI/trend reviews and on-call readiness.
Acts as unit technical expert during unplanned events and corrective actions.
Provides leadership in Raw Material Efficiency and may influence yield or waste.
