Databricks is seeking a Senior Product Counsel to guide the legal team in delivering practical advice to engineering and product management as we navigate data privacy, protection, and AI laws.

You will partner with teams across Databricks, advise on product agreements, DPAs, and security-related contract changes, and help scale our product counseling function.

Applicants should have 8+ years of experience, a state bar, and a strong background in cloud/software tech.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant legal experience at a top law firm and/or in-house, with focus on product, privacy, or IP law.
• Experience with AI, FedRAMP requirements, or payments is a plus.
• Deep understanding of cloud and software technology.
• State bar membership required.
• Ability to manage time and client expectations in a fast-growing company.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide end-to-end product counseling from ideation to end of life.
• Draft and update form agreements and negotiate DPAs/BAAs.
• Work cross-functionally with commercialization, product marketing, marketing, and communications teams.
• Advise on cybersecurity as part of incident response.
• Develop processes to improve our product counseling function.
• Partner with teams across Databricks and coordinate with external partners.
• Translate technical and security concerns into understandable guidance for non-technical lawyers.
• Contribute to Databricks' legal department reputation as a valued resource.
• Assist product stakeholders in developing process improvements.
• Provide general legal support as needed across the business.
