Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Process Engineer in the Water/Wastewater sector to deliver advanced process designs for municipal and industrial facilities. Lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with national experts to introduce innovative treatment technologies.

You will develop process models, review designs, and support client workshops, while advancing business development and ensuring high-quality outputs across multiple US projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in wastewater treatment design and research.
• Ability to lead process engineering for a large complex wastewater treatment project.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to develop, mentor and lead professional technical staff.
• Strong business development, proposal preparation, and marketing skills.
• Flexible and able to meet challenging deadlines.
• Strong client focus.

Responsibilities

• Execute advanced process designs for municipal and industrial wastewater facilities, focusing on nutrient removal and biosolids management.
• Collaborate with national experts to implement innovative wastewater technologies on high-profile projects.
• Mentor and provide technical direction to junior process engineers to ensure growth and quality.
• Assist with technical proposals, crafting the process approach and project-specific solutions.
• Conduct complex process modeling (BioWin, Sumo, GPS-X) following best practices.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of design calculations, reports, and drawings.
• Facilitate technical workshops for clients to evaluate process options and capital improvements.
• Support on-site startups and operational troubleshooting, feeding back to the design team.
• Engage with equipment manufacturers and assess new technologies for applications.
• Manage bench-scale and pilot-scale studies and scale-up recommendations.
• Develop Multi-Criteria and Life Cycle Cost Analyses for decision-making.
• Participate in professional organizations to stay at the forefront of the industry.
