Job summary

Lilly, Lebanon, Indiana, is seeking a small molecule Process Engineer to support a pilot plant focusing on active pharmaceutical ingredient synthesis. The role involves solving technical challenges with equipment design, developing and sustaining process knowledge, and optimizing processes for scale-up.

You will engage with HSE, QA, Tech Services, Development, Operations, Automation, Maintenance, Environmental Monitoring, and Manufacturing to ensure high-quality outputs and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical Engineering and related engineering degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharma, biotech, chemical manufacturing, or related batch processes.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform impact and risk assessments for unit operations.
• Learn lab and plant reactor design, automation recipes, and procedures.
• Ensure safety of people and environment; follow company safety policies.
• Maintain compliance of processing equipment with Quality System and cGMP requirements.
• Assess rig fit by reviewing data packages and performing modeling or experiments for scale-up.
• Coordinate with HSE, QA, Tech Services, Development, Operations, Automation, Maintenance, and Environmental Monitoring.
• Prepare and review technical reports and regulatory submissions; maintain records and notebooks.
• Promote quality by identifying issues and communicating effectively.
• Develop or review project plans and timetables for engineering work.
