Job summary

Lilly is seeking a small molecule Process Engineer to support the Lebanon, Indiana pilot plant and startup GMP manufacturing. You will develop, optimize, and sustain API synthesis processes, solving technical challenges and ensuring safety and compliance.

This role involves collaboration across functions, handling scale-up, equipment capability, and process knowledge, with opportunities to contribute to the Lilly Medicines Foundry and global manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience within a pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical manufacturing, or CMO environment or other relevant batch manufacturing process.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly will not sponsor work authorization or visas.

Responsibilities

• Perform impact and risk assessments for unit operations.
• Learn the lab and plant design for the reactors including automation recipes and procedures.
• Ensure safety and compliance with company policies and cgmp requirements.
• Assess rig fit by evaluating data packages and performing modeling or experiments for scale-up.
• Collaborate with multiple functions including HSE, QA, Tech Services, Development, Operations, Automation, and Maintenance.
• Prepare and review technical reports and regulatory submissions with well-maintained records.
