Job summary

Lilly is hiring a small molecule Process Engineer to support the pilot plant facility in Lebanon, Indiana. The role focuses on active pharmaceutical ingredient synthesis, process knowledge, and equipment capability while working to startup GMP manufacturing operations.

Initial locations include Lilly Technology Center in Indianapolis or Parkwood West in Carmel, with permanent site in Lebanon. Requires a BS/MS in Chemical Engineering and US work authorization with 4+ years in pharma/biotech or

Qualifications

BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum of 4 years of experience within a pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical manufacturing, or CMO environment or other relevant batch manufacturing process.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
Experience with manufacturing and development activities for APIs, intermediates, or other chemicals.
Familiarity with unit operations and process control systems.

Responsibilities

Perform impact and risk assessments for unit operations.
Learn the lab and plant design for reactors including automation recipes and procedures.
Ensure safety and that company policies are followed.
Ensure processing equipment remains compliant with Quality System requirements and cGMP.
Assist with modeling, simulations, and/or experimental work to ensure heat/mass transfer is acceptable during scale-up.
