Job summary

Lilly is building a new Medicines Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana, and seeks a small molecule Process Engineer to support the pilot plant with emphasis on API synthesis and process knowledge retention. The role involves solving technical challenges, optimizing processes, and enabling scalable manufacturing.

You will work cross-functionally to ensure safety, compliance, and readiness for full GMP operations at the Lebanon site, contributing to the startup team for the Manufacturing Foundry initiative.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience within a pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical manufacturing, or CMO environment or other relevant batch manufacturing process.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform impact and risk assessments for unit operations.
• Learn the lab and plant design for reactors including automation recipes and procedures.
• Ensure safety and adherence to company safety policies.
• Ensure processing equipment remains compliant with Quality System requirements and cGMP.
• Assess rig fit by evaluating data packages and perform modeling/simulations as needed for scale-up.
