Job summary

Intuit seeks a Senior Assistant General Counsel – Privacy, Data Innovation & Protection to lead the privacy program within the Chief Privacy Officer’s organization. You will oversee data governance, first‑party data strategy, and PETs while advising product, engineering, and data science teams.

Qualifications

• Active bar admission in the jurisdiction where the role is located; eligible to practice in California or applicable state.
• JD from an accredited law school; CS/Engineering degree valued.
• 10+ years of privacy and data protection law experience; 5+ years in tech/FinTech.
• Expert knowledge of CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, GLBA, FTC Act Section 5, FCRA; state privacy laws.
• Experience advising on adtech privacy law: consent management, tracking, data rooms, DMA/IAB.
• Counseling on Privacy by Design, data minimization, lawful bases across product lifecycle.
• Drafting/negotiating DPAs, data sharing agreements, and data contracts with privacy components.
• Experience with privacy-enhancing technologies (e.g., differential privacy, federated learning).
• Proven ability to mentor privacy professionals in a fast-paced environment.
• IAPP certification preferred; FinTech/financial services background a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a geographically dispersed privacy team within a matrixed, global org.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to product, engineering, marketing, and data science teams.
• Own adtech governance, first-party data strategy, data innovation, and PETs frameworks.
• Represent Intuit before regulators and data protection authorities; engage with industry bodies.
• Develop and implement privacy-by-design, data minimization, and lawful processing practices.
