Job summary

Intuit seeks a Senior Assistant General Counsel – Privacy, Data Innovation & Protection to lead legal strategy in a global, matrixed organization, reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer. You will partner with product, engineering, and data science to shape data governance, PETs, and first-party data initiatives.

The ideal candidate has deep privacy law expertise, strong leadership, and a track record enabling responsible data innovation at scale; familiarity with adtech, contract negotiations,

Qualifications

• Active bar admission in the jurisdiction where the role is located.
• JD from an accredited law school; CS/engineering background valued.
• 10+ years in privacy and data protection law, in-house or top firm.
• Expert on CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, GLBA, FTC Act §5, FCRA; state privacy laws.
• Experience advising on adtech privacy, tracking, data governance.
• Counsel on Privacy by Design, data minimization, lawful bases.
• Drafting/negotiating DPAs, data sharing and privacy contracts.
• Knowledge of two or more privacy-enhancing techs.
• IAPP certifications preferred.
• FinTech or financial services experience a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead dispersed privacy teams; influence across product, eng, legal, data science.
• Treat privacy as a business enabler and differentiator; drive strategy.
• Develop self-service pathways, guardrails, playbooks, and AI models.
• Engage with engineering on systems architecture and PETs implications.
• Articulate complex privacy questions to executives clearly.
• Build trust with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
• Balance legal principles with business needs and data strategy.
• Innovate for impact in data governance and compliance frameworks.
• Inspire collaboration and drive high performance across teams.
