Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Signal and Sensor Modeling Engineers to join a close-knit DoD Space team, developing physics-based modeling solutions in EO/IR/RF domains. You will work on energy transport modeling and AI-enabled hardware concepts to support next-generation defense systems.

The role emphasizes building robust C++ models, collaborating across teams, and delivering advanced simulations and software solutions in a dynamic, onsite environment.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field.
At least 10 years of relevant experience.
Experience with object-oriented design in C++, C, and MATLAB or Python for data evaluation.
Experience with UNIX/Linux or related OS.

Responsibilities

Champion novel solutions for advanced modeling techniques.
Develop new C++ models in an extensible and maintainable fashion.
Apply EO/RF phenomenology in software implementations.
Enable customer success through adoption of modeling solutions.
Work across languages and build environments in an established software product.
Research and develop novel EO or RF modeling solutions.
Coordinate with multiple teams to prioritize and solve software and physics problems.
Mentor and share EO or RF expertise with your team.
