Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer - Signal and Sensor Modeling to join a close-knit team. You will create advanced, physics-based models in the DoD Space domain, developing EO/IR/RF technologies and enabling AI-driven design and testing.

This onsite role requires deep engineering expertise and collaboration with Signal and Sensor Modeling peers. You will deploy cutting-edge modeling solutions, contribute across languages, and mentor teammates while supporting critical

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM with 8+ years of experience.
Experience with C++, C, and MATLAB or Python for data evaluation.
Experience with UNIX/Linux, macOS, or Windows command line.
Experience in electro-optics or radar processing, EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics, signal processing, or discrimination algorithms.

Responsibilities

Champion novel solutions for advanced modeling techniques.
Develop new C++ models in an extensible, maintainable fashion.
Deploy EO or RF phenomenology and advanced physics principles in software.
Enable customer success through adoption and utilization of modeling solutions.
Work across programming languages and build environments within an established software product.
Research and develop novel EO or RF modeling solutions.
Coordinate with multiple development teams to prioritize and solve complex software and physics problems.
Mentor and share EO or RF expertise with the team.
