Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex projects within a matrix environment. You will guide planning, execution, and closeout, ensuring safety and efficiency while maintaining strong stakeholder communications.

The role demands a bachelor’s in a relevant field, 5+ years PM experience (plus 2 years at Grade 7), and travel up to 25%. PMP is preferred. Nuclear and IT familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Five years of project management experience; plus two years as a PROJECT MANAGER (Grade 7).
• Experience in project management, major construction, project controls, or IT systems is favorable.
• Valid state driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise project activities.
• Apply Waterfall and Agile methodologies to project management.
• Ensure safety and Zero Harm focus in all activities.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules and budgets.
• Communicate progress and results to stakeholders and leadership.
• Mentor other project managers.
