Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Project Manager Staff Sr. or Project Manager Staff to lead highly complex EPC/CCGT programs in a matrix environment.

You will plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and manage project scope, schedule, budget, and staff, while communicating clearly with internal and external stakeholders and maintaining a strong safety focus. The role requires a bachelor's degree with extensive PM experience (or an associate’s with longer track record), PMP certification,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or related field with ten (10) years qualified experience; OR,
• Associate’s degree with twelve (12) years of qualified experience; OR, High School Diploma with fourteen (14) years of qualified experience.
• Experience in project management, major construction field experience, project estimating, project controls, and/or comparable experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with expert level proficiency.
• Use Waterfall or Agile methods to manage projects in a regulated production environment.
• Support safety and Zero Harm initiatives and ensure a safe working environment.
• Manage project plan, schedule, budget, tools, and staff and reallocate funding as needed.
• Communicate project/outage details and status updates to stakeholders and prepare detailed reports.
