Job summary

Pratt & Whitney seeks a Principal Project Engineer to lead a large Rotors IPT in the Compression Systems Engineering group. The role focuses on task execution, team leadership, and collaborating with authorities on development and cost improvements.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in mechanical/aerospace engineering, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills, with a path toward DoD clearance and 10% travel.

Qualifications

• BS or equivalent with 8+ years or MS with 5+ years in mechanical/aerospace engineering.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer-focused mindset.
• Gas turbine engine rotating hardware experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Rotors IPT to meet task and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with team and authorities on component development and cost improvements.
• Communicate status and technical content to CIPT and Pratt & Whitney management.
• Perform Control Account Manager duties to track progress, budget, and schedules.
• Coordinate part-level industrial activities with procurement, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
• Conduct risk assessments and drive continuous improvement; travel up to 10%.
