Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to provide technical leadership for mechanical systems and bearing compartments, from concept through part release.

You will guide design activities across hardware development, analysis, manufacturing, and validation, collaborating with CIPT, Design Integrators and validation partners to meet program milestones and performance targets, on-site.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering with 10+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Experience leading design across hardware development, analysis, manufacturing and validation.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical design solutions meeting cost, weight, performance, quality and schedule targets.
• Provide design guidance for Mechanical Systems hardware and bearing compartments, ensuring integration and compliance.
• Coordinate with CIPT, Design Integrators, analytical teams and validation partners to meet milestones.
• Guide engineers through Class 1 Engineering Changes and report program status, risks, and metrics.
• Apply CORE tools and Agile methods to improve design processes and drive tasks to completion.
