Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a leader in aerospace propulsion, seeks a Principal Design Engineer – Mechanical Systems in its MSEN group. You will serve as Design Lead to the CIPT, drive design execution, coordinate cross‑functional activities, and manage risks to ensure on‑time delivery of engineering commitments.

You will collaborate with IPMT, SIPT, Chief Engineers and customers, mentor engineers, and contribute to tool standards and EKS content, while travelling up to 20% for project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with extensive hands-on design experience.
• Proven track record delivering mechanical design projects across cross-functional teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and guiding large tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute cross‑functional tasks with full integration.
• Dispozition of fleet issues with urgency and accuracy.
• Mentor engineers and influence resource planning.
• Contribute to Engineering Knowledge System (EKS) content and standards.
• Support engine builds, teardowns, and MRO activities; travel up to 20%.
