Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior Presales Engineer to lead the technical journey from scope to sale for Land Mobile Radio projects. You will act as the definitive technical authority, partnering with sales, service, and engineering to deliver robust, mission-critical designs tailored to customer needs.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in sales engineering or public safety, strong wireless/IP knowledge, and a proven ability to translate customer requirements into comprehensive system designs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years in sales, sales engineering, solutions architecture, military and/or public safety
• OR 10+ years of experience in sales, sales engineering, solutions architecture, military and/or public safety
• Strong general knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures (public and private)
• Strong general knowledge of IP networking architecture, protocols and security
• Knowledge of RF coverage predictions, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets
• Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Equipment list generation
• Developing comprehensive system designs and detailed technical diagrams
• Calculation of power and networking requirements
• Participation in proposal reviews and contract negotiations
• Delivering compelling technical presentations to executive stakeholders
• Coordination with Systems Integration, Service, Sales, and Product Groups to address goals
• Crafting strategic implementation approaches and service plans to secure project wins
• Meeting/exceeding customer requirements and providing value alternatives when requirements cannot be met
• Managing to Motorola's sales, revenue and margin goals
• Driving sole source & RFP projects to completion coordinating project teams
