Job summary

SCA Health is seeking an RN in PreOp/PACU to join our operating suite support team in Minnesota. The role involves assessing patients pre- and post-operatively, interpreting monitors, and applying standardized discharge criteria.

Qualifications

• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical / surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standings.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
• Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to policies (including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological systems).
• Interpret information from monitors and describe relevant pathophysiology.
• Apply discharge criteria and develop an individualized perianesthesia care plan.
• Implement care including anesthesia recovery management and various anesthesia techniques.
• Protect patient from injury and ensure wound/tissue perfusion integrity.
• Communicate patient status across the perioperative continuum and provide pain management.
• Document care accurately and collaborate with the care team.
• Participate in quality improvement and ongoing professional growth.
