Job summary

SCA Health is seeking an RN PreOp PACU to join our perioperative team. You will assess preoperative and postoperative status, monitor vitals, and collaborate to ensure safe anesthesia recovery and discharge planning.

You will apply evidence-based perianesthesia care, document accurately, communicate status across the care continuum, and protect patient rights and dignity in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standing.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment or current certification.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment or current ACLS certification.
• PALS certification is required when pediatric care is included within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Promote mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient's preoperative and postoperative status per policies.
• Interpret information from noninvasive and invasive monitors.
• Describe pathophysiology of disease processes and physiology of anesthesia techniques.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement the plan including managing recovery from anesthesia and related tasks.
• Provide hand-off report to teammates with accurate, concise information.
• Delegate tasks per state regulations and job descriptions.
• Document nursing care completely, accurately, and legibly.
• Collaborate effectively with other disciplines and participate in quality improvement.
