Job summary

Amazon’s Global Engineering Services North America Design & Construction seeks a Senior Preconstruction Manager to autonomously lead complex cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design completion, permitting, and contract execution across the region.

You will mentor preconstruction managers, drive safety and compliance, manage budgets and vendor contracts, and present decisions to Directors and VPs. This role requires 60% regional travel and relocation eligibility.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of project management, real estate development, architecture/design experience
• Bachelor's degree
• 7+ years of experience in related construction disciplines
• 7+ years of management from design through operation
• Experience with packaging/processing/logistical facilities
• Travel up to 60% nationwide

Responsibilities

• Own and manage complex preconstruction projects from site selection through design, permitting, and execution
• Lead site selection, scope development, and design management across multiple locations
• Oversee end-to-end design evaluations and value engineering
• Manage budgets, procurement, and external vendor partnerships
• Lead cross-functional teams and drive risk, schedule, and cost controls
• Mentor and develop other preconstruction managers
• Write narratives and present decisions to Directors and VPs
• Develop playbooks and drive process improvements
