Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc is seeking a Solutions Engineer for the NorCal SLED team. You will champion Cisco within public sector verticals, partnering with Account Executives and specialists to architect solutions across Secure Networking, Hybrid Cloud, and AI-ready Infrastructure.

Your role emphasizes trusted advisory, strategic architecture, and multi-year account planning, with travel to local customer sites and partner events. A relevant degree and professional certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of pre-sales, systems engineering, or technical consulting in enterprise/public sector.
• Hands-on Cisco architectures (Networking, Wireless, Data Center, or Cybersecurity) or equivalents.
• Proven ability to translate complex tech into business, mission value.
• Experience leading customer-facing architectural presentations and POC work.
• Willing to relocate to Northern California and travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Advise customers as trusted technical advisor and advocate.
• Define cross-architectural solution options aligned with public sector priorities.
• Deliver POCs, value engagements, and live demonstrations.
• Develop multi-year technical account plans with Account Executives.
• Drive adoption and enable regional partner communities.
