Job summary

Ashton North LLC is seeking a Senior Pre-Sales Applications Engineer for robotic welding and automated systems in Pewaukee, WI. This on-site role focuses on evaluating prints for weld feasibility, architecting cell concepts (FANUC/ABB), and delivering technical proposals to customers.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in welding automation, strong MIG/TIG knowledge, CAD proficiency, and solid communication skills to partner withSales and Engineering in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of welding automation experience.
• Understanding of GMAW/MIG and GTAW/TIG and joint fit-up impact on feasibility.
• CAD/layout proficiency with AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
• Strong client-facing communication skills for interfacing with client teams.
• US work authorization within Pewaukee area.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical feasibility reviews by evaluating parts, drawings, and specs.
• Architect welding automation concepts including cell layouts and tooling.
• Develop technical proposals with timelines, labor estimates, and BOMs.
• Coordinate weld sample evaluations, trials, and feasibility testing.
• Travel to customer sites (~15%) to gather requirements and present solutions.
• Ensure processes comply with AWS D1.1, ASME IX and customer specs.
