Job summary

Ashton North LLC in Pewaukee, WI is seeking a Senior Welding Engineer for automated systems to lead weld process development and ensure code compliance on complex automation projects.

You will mentor Robotic Welding Technicians, develop WPS/PQR, review robot weld paths, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to meet AWS D1.1 and ASME IX standards.

This on-site, first-shift role offers up to $110,000 per year, 401(k), comprehensive benefits, and occasional travel for commissioning.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of welding engineering experience.
• Deep capability in GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, robotic arc, laser welding.
• Experience developing, qualifying Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and PQR.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX.
• U.S. citizenship or Green Card; Pewaukee commuting distance.

Responsibilities

• Lead Robotic Welding Technicians with troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Develop, document, and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and parameters.
• Evaluate fixtures and cell layouts for part access and repeatability.
• Investigate nonconformances and ensure code compliance with AWS D1.1 and ASME IX.
• Provide technical input on project estimating for weld feasibility and cycle times.
• Support equipment integration, robot commissioning, and startup at client sites.
