Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group seeks an experienced Pre-Sales Applications Engineer focused on robotic welding and automated systems for its Pewaukee, WI facility. This 1st-shift, on-site role entails evaluating customer prints, architecting cell concepts, and delivering high-value automation proposals that align with customer needs.

Ideal candidates will have 7+ years in welding automation, strong GMAW/GTAW knowledge, and a proven track record in pre-sales engineering. U.S.

Qualifications

7+ years of welding automation experience in pre-sales or robotic systems integration.
Solid understanding of GMAW/MIG and GTAW/TIG processes and their impact on automation feasibility.
Proficiency reviewing or drafting conceptual cell layouts using CAD tools.

Responsibilities

Serve as the main pre-sales technical lead for robotic welding cells; evaluate prints for weld feasibility.
Architect welding automation concepts; specify processes, power sources, tooling, and cell layouts (FANUC/ABB).
Develop technical proposals with layouts, cycle-time estimates, labor hours, and BOMs.
Coordinate weld sample evaluations, trials, and feasibility testing.
Travel to customer facilities (~15% domestically/internationally) to gather requirements and present solutions.
Ensure weld processes meet AWS D1.1 and ASME IX standards and customer specs.
