Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Field Services Technician based in Wisconsin or Minnesota. You will perform testing and commissioning for Protection and Control on high voltage substations, using relay test sets and industry standards.

You will document site activities, assist project leads, and ensure safety and quality while working on diverse field projects across the region. Travel up to 80% and lifting requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical testing industry
• Experience with 15 kV to 500 kV protective relays and circuits
• Knowledge of testing standards: IEEE, NETA, NFPA
• Able to travel up to 80% and lift up to 35 lbs
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning on Protection and Control systems for high voltage substations
• Conduct on-site relay testing with Omicron CMC 256/356 or Doble F6150
• Document activities using field logs and digital tools
• Support project leads and field supervisors; escalate complex issues
• Maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on site
• Review colleagues' work for accuracy and provide guidance
• Prepare field reports and timekeeping
