Job summary

WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Senior P&C Field Services Technician for project locations across the western U.S. You will lead field activities in electrical testing and commissioning of utility substations, industrial and bulk power systems.

You will apply advanced field procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, providing technical direction to junior staff while ensuring quality and on-time project execution on site.

Qualifications

• Experience performing protection and control testing in high voltage environments.
• Ability to lead field activities and coordinate with subcontractors on-site.
• Knowledge of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation.
• Provide technical direction to junior staff and ensure quality control.

Responsibilities

• Delivers advanced technical support across environmental, construction, and infrastructure-related field activities by performing complex assignments and leading day-to-day technical activities on site within established project parameters
• Applies deep knowledge of field procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to lead inspections, data collection, sampling, and technical troubleshooting
• Serves as a field resource for resolving non-routine challenges, ensuring quality control, and maintaining operational continuity
• Provides technical direction to junior staff, supports project execution, and contributes to risk mitigation and compliance efforts across diverse and active field environments
• Lead tailgate safety meetings, daily job hazard analyses, and support regulatory compliance walkthroughs
• Coordinate with subcontractors on site preparation, testing logistics, and equipment deployment
• Monitor and promote compliance with site-specific health, safety, and environmental protocols
