Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Field Services Technician based in Wisconsin or Minnesota. You will join the PTE Team to perform testing and commissioning for protection and control systems on high voltage substations, using industry-standard test equipment and software.

You will document site activities, assist field teams, and ensure safety compliance on active job sites, with opportunities to mentor junior technicians and contribute to project success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 7+ years in electrical testing, including HV breaker, transformers, and substations testing.
• Experience with transmission, generation, and distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Proficient in testing electrical distribution, generation, and transmission projects 15 kV–500 kV.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning tasks for Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
• Perform on-site protective relay testing with specified test sets.
• Document site activities with field forms and mobile tools.
• Maintain logs, photos, and labels with attention to detail.
• Support Project Lead or Field Supervisor and escalate issues as needed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
• Communicate progress and potential delays to the project team.
