Job summary

WSP seeks a POWER Testing and Energization Lead P&C Technician Field Services based in Wisconsin or Minnesota. You will lead field operations, perform protection and control testing on HV substations, and mentor technicians while coordinating with engineers and clients.

Ideal candidates have 11+ years in electrical testing, experience with relays and protective schemes, and strong safety practices. Willingness to travel up to 80% is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 11+ years in electrical testing, including HV equipment and substation testing.
• Experience with transmission/generation/distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Advanced testing of relays and calibration using Omicron/Doble equipment.
• Familiarity with standards (NETA, IEEE, NFPA).
• Knowledge of test software: ProTesT, Protection Suite, ENOSERV RTS, Omicron, ACSELerator.
• Strong field collaboration, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for complex projects with guidance to field crews.
• Perform protection and control testing on HV substations.
• Test with relay test sets and ensure data is accurately recorded.
• Mentor technicians and manage on-site logistics and safety.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients to meet schedules and quality.
