Job summary

WSP USA seeks a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Experienced P&C Field Services Technician for projects in Texas and Louisiana. You will perform high‑voltage protection and control testing and on‑site energization tasks, using Omicron and Doble equipment, and lead hands‑on testing on multiple relay families (SEL, GE, Basler, Beckwith).

Qualifications

• 7+ years in electrical testing, including HV equipment and substations.
• Experience with protection and controls testing per NETA/IEEE standards.
• Knowledge of relay types (SEL, GE, Basler, Beckwith) and testing methods.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and upload settings to microprocessor relays.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% and perform on-site field work.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning for Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
• On-site protective relay testing using test sets such as Omicron CMC 256/356 and Doble F6150.
• Document site activities using field forms, digital tools, and mobile apps.
• Maintain equipment calibration, inventory, and cleanliness as directed.
• Support Project Lead or Field Supervisor and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Participate in daily safety briefings and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Mentor junior technicians and review work for quality and accuracy.
• Complete logs, sketches, and digital reports with attention to detail.
