Rosendin Electric seeks a senior Power System Protection Engineer to design and implement protection strategies for critical facilities. You will develop relay settings for transformers, lines, and buses, conduct coordination studies, and mentor junior engineers.

Expect hands-on modeling using ETAP/SKM/CAPE/ASPEN and close collaboration with clients and project teams to ensure protection systems meet standards. Applicants should have a BSEE with a power focus, 6+ years in protection, and a U.S.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of protection and relay settings experience for power systems.
• U.S.-based PE registration is required.
• BSEE with a power systems focus.
• Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, ASPEN, CAPE.
• Experience protecting data centers and mission-critical facilities.
• Ability to mentor and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Design protection and relay schemes to coordinate with client requirements.
• Develop protection settings for transformers, generators, lines, and buses.
• Perform coordination studies to minimize downtime during faults.
• Use ETAP/SKM/CAPE/ASPEN to model protection systems and faults.
• Conduct fault, short-circuit, arc flash, and harmonics analyses.
• Support field testing, commissioning, and validation of relays and control systems.
• Diagnose relay protection issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and clients on project execution.
• Prepare relay settings documents, test reports and coordination diagrams.
• Lead small to mid-size projects and mentor junior staff.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, IEC, NEC, NFPA 70E, and NERC standards.
