Job summary

Rosendin is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to design and implement complex power distribution protection and automation for strategic projects. You will lead pre-construction design, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and develop robust protection architectures using SEL, Siemens, ABB, and GE relays.

You will analyze protection schemes, create operation sequences, and ensure system reliability across utility and data-center scale environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of engineering design experience in electrical power systems.
• Strong understanding of power distribution, relaying, and automation systems.
• Knowledge of SEL-751, SEL-787, SEL-487E, SEL-2411, SEL-3350 RTAC, Siemens 7SX82/85, 7UT, ABB REF615.

Responsibilities

• Pre-construction design of protection and control systems including relays and RTAC for automatic transfer schemes.
• Develop site-wide electrical distribution sequences of operation for reliability.
• Coordinate with utility, power plant, and BESS stakeholders.
• Review vendor submittals to ensure conformance with design requirements.
• Conduct vendor coordination meetings to ensure system integration.
• Design mechanical, electrical, and interlock systems and ensure proper relaying with instrument transformers.
• Develop system-wide automation using PLC/RTAC and related controls.
• Design relay protection and automation logic for SEL, ABB, Siemens, or GE relays.
• Implement IEC61850, Modbus, DNP, and similar interfaces in protection architectures.
• Provide event capture analysis and metering/triggering for fault analysis.
