Job summary
Rosendin seeks a senior electrical engineer to design protection and automation for power systems across large-scale projects. You will develop protection architectures, coordinate with utilities and vendors, and ensure reliable operation of complex distribution and interlock schemes.
You will work with SEL, Siemens, ABB relays and RTAC/PLC platforms, supporting turnkey project delivery with a focus on safety and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of electrical power systems design experience.
- Strong understanding of relay protection and automation systems.
- Experience with utility coordination and project management.
Responsibilities
- Pre-construction design and development of power system protection and control.
- Design site-wide electrical distribution sequence of operation for reliability.
- Coordinate with utility, BESS, and turbine power plants as needed.
- Review vendor/submittals to ensure compliance with design requirements.
- Lead vendor coordination meetings to ensure interoperability of systems.
- Develop interlock systems, protective relays, and automation logic.
- Design protection architectures (IEC61850, Modbus, DNP3).
- Provide failure analysis and event triggering schemes.
