Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Principal System Planning and Studies Engineer to lead the Power Delivery & Renewables team in North America. The role combines technical leadership with project management to deliver robust power system studies for utility and developer clients.

You will oversee HVAC and HVDC analyses, interconnection studies, and process development while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with multiple Arcadis groups. Travel up to 20% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in Power System Planning and Studies with North American operators
• Experience leading planning/feasibility studies and interconnection studies for utility and developer clients in North America
• Proficient with PSCAD and PSS/E; familiar with PSLF, DigSILENT, TARA, DSA Tools
• PE License required
• PhD in Power Systems strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the System Planning & Studies team and coordinate resource planning
• Perform load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic, and interconnection studies
• Develop and optimize planning processes, methodologies, and tools for quality and efficiency
• Serve as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, Program Manager, Account Manager and Technical Lead for PD&R
• Engage with clients, contractors, and vendors to support business development and project execution
