Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Power & Hardware Design Engineer to be the technical authority for power systems and hardware within its global fulfillment center network. You will drive standardization and innovation of power distribution, critical for material handling operations and safety.

You will influence multi-year roadmaps and ensure high-quality, scalable electrical solutions across sites. The role collaborates with WWDE, Operations Engineering, suppliers, and cross-functional teams

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Proven expertise in 3‑phase power system design and power distribution for industrial or commercial environments.
Experience with arc flash calculations and hazard analysis per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
Experience in hardware design and validation for large-scale material handling systems.

Responsibilities

Design, engineer, and optimize 3-phase power systems and distribution for material handling applications.
Specify MDBs, PDPs, and electrical substations with proper sizing and protection coordination.
Develop single-line diagrams, power distribution schematics, and panel schedules.
Perform power quality, fault current, and coordination studies to ensure reliability and safety.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external partners to standardize power system design.
