Job summary

RESA Power is seeking experienced Electrical Testing Techs or individuals with electrical backgrounds in engineering or testing for our Baton Rouge, LA service location. You will work in a safe, modern facility performing testing and maintenance on high-voltage power transmission equipment.

The role requires inspecting, testing, and repairing transformers and switchgear up to 500 kV, with duties including on-site reporting and on-call support.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of related field experience.
• Knowledge of NEC, NETA, OSHA, IEEE and NFPA.
• Ability to complete on-site job reports.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data of low, medium and/or high voltage (to 500kV) electrical systems.
• Test and high/low voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
• Inspect and repair transformers, circuit breakers and related equipment (45 KVA to 130 MVA).
• Perform maintenance, testing and repair on low to medium voltage equipment up to 15 KV.
• Experience with SF6 equipment and gas insulated switchgear is a plus.
• Test and inspect low/medium voltage cable installations.
• Operate high voltage test equipment including Doble Power Factor sets (preferred).
• Start-up, troubleshoot and repair controls and transfer schemes.
• Rotate on-call duties and respond to customer emergencies promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory laws.
