Job summary

RESA Power is seeking experienced Electrical Testing Techs or those with electrical backgrounds in engineering or testing. The Minnesota RESA Power service location is based out of Baton Rouge, LA, in a safe, modern facility.

You will perform service, test and maintain various power transmission and distribution equipment, with on-site responsibilities and possible on-call duties, in a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience and 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and industry standards such as NETA, OSHA, IEEE and NFPA.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data of low, medium and/ or high voltage (to 500kV) electrical systems.
• Low, Medium and/ or High voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing.
• Perform inspection, maintenance, testing and repair of transformers, circuit breakers and related equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repair on circuit breakers and switchgear up to 15 kV.
• Experience with SF6 equipment and gas insulated switchgear is a plus.
• Test and inspect low and medium voltage cable installations.
• Operate high voltage test equipment including Doble Power Factor test sets.
• Perform start-up, troubleshooting and repair services on controls and transfer schemes.
• Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies.
